Who do you like/dislike on American Idol?

Right now I really like Fantasia, the girl who sang "Summertime" from "Porgy and Bess" last night on "American Idol".

I really hope that Jon Peter Lewis, who sang "Jailhouse Rock" gets the boot.

1. I like Fantasia, Latoya, Jennifer and George

not necessarily in that order. I thought George was great last night and didn't deserve the harsh criticism (which will probably land him in the bottom 3 tonight).

I DETEST and LOATHE Jon Peter Lewis and John Stevens. BLAAAHHHH!!!!! Unfortunately the teenyboppers will keep on voting for them, I fear.

2. jpl finally displayed some talent this time

i've always thought he sucked, big time. never understood the appeal. this time, though, he actually sang competently and almost interestingly. it would be ironic if he got the boot after giving his best performance.

i don't like the 16 year old harry connick jr. wannabee. yaaaaaawnn.

my vote goes for that panel. i like hearing what they have to say far more than i like hearing the music!

promotes a narrow view of "talent" and supports obnoxious brits and ditzy ex-cheerleaders.

4. I love Fantasia!

She had me from the beginning of the season. There's something very special about her! Last night's performance was the best yet (ever, as Randy said), but I agree with Tarintino that I'd like her to get funky again.

John and the red-haired guy don't impress me at all. Especially John.

6. I rarely watch American Idol, but...

...my wife loves it, thus I see it from time to time. I just happened to catch Fantasia's perfomance last night and I was completely BLOWN AWAY! That was one of the finest performances I've EVER seen on TV. She nailed it!

7. John Stevens is the WORST

I don't know how he even made the first cut. He is horrible. Every week he looks guilty someone else got voted out. He knows he is the worst one there.

I can't, for the life of me, see why JPL and John Stevens are still there.

9. yup . . . they're the only three who can really sing . . .

I also can't understand why those two guys are still standing . . . particularly Stevens, who has a decent voice for a particular kind of song I guess, but doesn't belong in this kind of competition . . . also, as Simon noted last night, he has zero charisma . . . and that JPL kid's performances remind me of those really bad musical numbers on the Brady Bunch . . .

What's up with Simon ripping on people's age, anyway? Has he run out of wisecracks to make about their appearance already?

Edit: Maryknoll Scholl has a great big banner right out front, near a busy freeway on-ramp, reading "Maryknoll School saluutes Jasmine Trias... our American Idol". Plus it's got a pretty tropical flower on it. Can your Idol do that?

I love George... he's just so much fun to watch.

Jennifer and LaToya come in after that.

Then Diana, Jasmine, JPL and John Stevens--in that order.



I hate to say it, but Jasmine and Diana were not impressive this week at all, and if the voter think like me, they will be in the bottom 3 this week, along w/ John Stevens.
