3. I liked Hellboy, and it's not too violent against humans |
|
there's a nice message about good vs evil and how people who don't fit in can find love anyway. Boys would like it.

You can tell your boys that Jesus was punished like that because he didn't keep his room cleaned up
How about 'Starksy & Hutch'? My nephews are around that age and thought the movie was pretty kewl

8. This is Not a Great Week for Movies |
|
However, a week ago, I took my 13-year-old daughter to "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." She was very impressed and described it as "strangely fabulous." We actually had a decent discussion about some of the plot twists.
It's a bizarre recommendation in your case, because it's a love story, it's written for sophisticated audiences, it's a mixture of real and imagined scenes, sometimes out sequence, which are often difficult to follow. There's a bit of sexuality but nothing too graphic unless you're strict on that sort of thing. On the other hand, from your boys' point of view, it has Jim Carey and Elijah Woods, it's a science fiction movie of sorts, and it's a "cool" movie. From your point of view, it's guaranteed to make them think, feel, and pay attention.
It's also the best movie out there at the moment. And in my daughter's case, it seemed to work.

11. Depends on what you are trying to do |
|
If you want to reward them then take 'em to see what they want to see.
If you want to make them clean their rooms all the time, then I suggest The Passion or Dawn of the Dead or best of all I Spit On Your Grave. They will live in fear for the rest of their lives - but their rooms will be clean.
But no, seriously, don't go to the movies. Make some popcorn, turn off the lights, cuddle up with your kids and and throw a video on. My choice? "Meet me in St. Louis". It's got all the really cool sick kid stuff and all the responsible adult parental stuff. It works. And it's funny.
Khash.

13. I'm not the one to ask... |
|
...my dad took me to this uber-violent historical film abouut Wahabism when I was about 10 called "Lion of the Desert" - the scenes of the mujahadeen getting rolled over by Italian tanks left me with nightmares for weeks!
I reccomend Scooby Doo 2...
