5. I thought they were calling Pluto
an Oort Cloud object, but that Sedna is beyond the Oort Cloud.

Did I hear that wrong?

11. No...
Tecnically, Pluto is a Kuiper Belt object. The kuiper belt is a field of debris on the outer fringes of the solar system. The Oort cloud is further out than the Kuiper Belt.

Plutino Oort object;
insuficcient data, diameter given 0.9-0.6 Pluto's, Pluto at lower limit of planet designation, eccentricity may invalidate Sedna

13. Are are Correct, Jonathan -- Thank You
I changed the poll.

The Oort Cloud, I understand, is still is some dispute, in that it would be too far away and its members too small to be directly visible.

12. depends on what a "planet" is
IF Pluto is called a planet, then Sedna should be considered one too.

IF Pluto is considered a planetoid, then Sedna should also.

I tend to lean towards them both being called planetoids, so I voted for "just another Oort object." That of course would mean that our solar system has just eight planets.

and this is why science is cool.

Khash.

P.S. It's probably Courtney Love's most recent drug induced publicity stunt. In which case, it's still cool.

16. I voted for planet, but I actually consider it a vast clump of now
frozen wet laundry left here by the Creator of the Universe when he or she failed to clean up after himself or herself.

21. Does anyone know the diameter???
If it's over 1,000 miles, then it's a planet, IMO.

Pluto is a planet, because it has its own moon, Charon.
