1. Here's my contribution, and I'm not drunk
Falling downward, darkness spiraling into ice, cannot see, cannot hear, blood stopped flowing, I live in my fear.

2. limerick
Cocoa and Toby and Daddy
Were running and ripping and happy
Said Daddy to Cocoa,
"Little girl, you're so loco!"
And Toby said, "Daddy, you're sappy!"

best I could do in thirty seconds

7. limerick
a gray cat named Charley MacNab
took a trip to the Chesapeake by cab
he wound up in Waldorf
and lived on a small wharf
and spent his days fishing for crab

coming from her mouth.

4. hmmmm hmmm
there once was a man from mars
who loved to frolic amongst the stars
he danced on the sun
and burnt his little bun
and saved the peeling skin in jars

5. Alone once more
Edited on Fri Apr-16-04 08:52 PM by Sgt. Peppers
Once more my arms fall silent
Alone once more

The sound of death does fill this air
As reckless leaders grasp at naught

Once more a child falls silent
Alone once more

Trapped in a wall less cage
Cries alone in crimson soaked rag

Once more a Mother drops to her knees in pain
Alone once more

Darkness encircled by light
So far from home does the child's mind wonder

A game comes on, as a father makes no sound
Alone once more

Wicked men do toil with trouble
Selling lives as their only currency

A wood box is lowered into dark damp dirt
Alone once more

(Was this ok? It was just quickie off the top of the noggin)

6. Hrmmmm...
My lipstick glides competently
over the curve that could smile
over the colour of passion
that matches the rose still blooming
in the rememberence of you
I cannot wash away.

8. Zona Winds
Winds sweep across the rim
Up here high above saguaro
Above sand and sagebrush
Up through the canyon
Grand or Oak Creek
There are several
Craggy, like the faces of
Wise elders
On the plateau

Snow will be melting soon
Off the peaks of San Francisco
To vainly quench the ever
Thirsty denizens of the town
Below, and above
The valley of the sun
Where the winds come from
Where coyotes mark the night air
Yelping at your window

This thin high air of home
Windy in the early evening
As the pines just don't whisper
They have stories to tell
The old mother road
The winding desert highway
A broken piece of asphalt
Like a black ribbon of dust
It is windy and windy today

9. I love short form poetry!
as precious souls lie under the sand
an armchair patriot cheers, four more years!
unaware of the blood on his hands

15. Somewhere
Somewhere she is watching the lights
from a farmhouse
through the rain that falls
outside the window
of her train.

Somehow, I believe, she is thinking
of a light that still will
be waiting tomorrow
in the night.

Someday, she will realize the road
is not golden
and the rain that falls
is only
a reminder
of the olden memories
that she longs for
and that train
will bring her home.
