Sphere XP . . . 3D desktop replacement for MS Windows XP . . .
http://www.hamar.sk/sphere/

The SphereXP is a 3D desktop replacement for Microsoft Windows XP. Taking the known concept of three-dimensional desktops to its own level. It offers a new way to organize objects on the desktop such a icons and applications. Check the videos and screenshots to get the idea.

The project was under "heavy" construction, but now it is open for testing. Everybody is free to try it out. Every response is appreciated.

On edit, isn't there something similar available for the Linux distros?
I thought I had seen something similar for KDE.

2. Probably runs faster under Linux too
I'd heard something vague about it for Linux, but yes it exists. Knowing firsthand how often Linux is faster than Windows, I'm thinking that such a UI under XP will be slooooooooow.

3. Depends on the rig that you're using I'm sure.
I'm just reluctant to install the .NET framework on my rig. I've read
that its quite vulnerable at this point.

4. It's very buggy
Don't waste your time with It, I gave It a try a couple of weeks ago.
It has potential, but at this point, It's just too slow and buggy.
