Right-wing messages on trailer trucks |
|
Edited on Sat Apr-17-04 12:17 PM by NightTrain
Has anyone else noticed a proliferation of these in recent times? I'm not talking about bumper stickers, or about messages scrawled in the dust that collects on these trucks. No, I'm talking about professionally stenciled messages on the cabs and trailers.
I saw three of them on the freeway just this morning:
G.I.G.A.T. God Is Good All the Time
His name is not THE MAN UPSTAIRS. His name is JESUS!
Have you PRAISED THE LORD today?
I also have seen a number of trucks and trailers with variations on I'M A CHILD, NOT A CHOICE. Not too long ago, I even saw one that read, DEFEND MARRIAGE. Not surprisingly, all of the rigs in question had license plates from the south and midwest!
It's not enough that these right-wing yahoos control both the government and the media. Do they also have to shove their bullshit down our throats via their 18-wheelers? Assholes. :grr::nuke:

values. There was a case where they fired a guy for alcohol abuse (NOT a DUI).

6. The trucking industry is run by a bunch of sickos..... |

I was a driver for several years and let me tell ya.....
The intention behind those signs is to attract submissive Christian drivers to the company. Covenant Transport had the reputation of being a horrible place to work.
******
One year, the company I worked for sent out a letter from the CEO with the annual Christmas card. In this letter the boss suggested that the reason we work so hard every day is because "that's how we show our love for our families, friends, God, and fellow Americans".
A couple weeks later I saw a little photo of the boss in one of those truck-stop magazines. I read the caption under the photo and learned that he'd just made the Forbes 400 and his net worth was estimated to be 1 billion dollars.
I bumped into another driver from our company and showed him the article and he said to me "so I guess he didn't send you a thank-you card either?"

An intrepid (:eyes:) 18-wheeler had gone too fast on a rural road; flipped over the right shoulder and went into the ravine. Landed on its side. One puny tow truck and 4 other big rigs were there, emptying Humpty's truck of... 12-packs of Pepsi products.
Did he forget to put GIGAT on his truck? Or was God sparing us some Pepsi (which is understandable, that stuff is carbonated acidified sugar water that wreaks havoc on teeth...)
Okay, that was mean. I can say NOBODY was hurt, so maybe God was there...?
