How can I get this printer driver to work?
When I try to load the Epson FX80 printer driver (Windows 95 version)
there is a request for additional files from the Windows 95 disk, which I do not have.
Is there a way around this?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

1. You might be able to download the drivers from the website.
Otherwise...
That's pretty old software. Surely lots of people have those discs.

3. Windows 95? You're kidding, right?
They don't even SUPPORT that OS anymore. You seriously need to upgrade to Win 98 SE at a minimum. There are *cough* ways *cough* to acquire that for free, ya know....

4. True, but the machine works fine as it is.
I am giving it to someone who will only use it for typing letters.
All I have to do is get the damn printer to work.

6. This might help
What is the file being asked for? Do a Google search and see if it's "out there" somewhere.

7. it is asking for 'additional files'
It is not specific as to which files it needs.
I cannot find the required info on the Windows Website.

10. Hmm - long shot try
I had a guy set up a Win 95 computer for me years ago. He copied the whole installation directory into a folder on my hard drive. Maybe you have the same on yours.

If I remember correctly, and maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong, the installation files have the extension .cab. Search your hard drive. If you have a directory with .cab files in it, you might have the files needed for installation of your driver.

When you get the request for the installation disk, try pointing to the directory with the .cab files on your local drive. (If you have multiple directories with .cab files, you may have to try each seperately.)

If this doesn't work, try contacting the printer company. They may have a solution for you.

8. Do not ask me. My printer is resting this month.
It only works when it feels like it.
