Is it just me or does VH1 suck sooo bad now?

I remember when they used to do Behind the Music and various Top 20's that had to do with music. Now over the last couple of years they do this awful Lifestyles of the rich and famous shit, with Paris Hilton being the star. I hate it. It is so dumbed down it makes me sick.

And Paris, if you read this, I have one thing to say: Eat something for god sakes, you are waaaay too skinny.

They truly ran that into the ground. Seeing Hal Sparks mugging about some such thing with the 80's got old very quickly...

on cable here, videos all day. They have hr long segments with different genres each hr.

7. Ok, so what is wrong with 'our' demographic

All I ever hear is how MTV sucks, which I agree, because they don't play music. VH1 seems to have suffered the same fate. Might have something to do with the woman who runs both channels.

Anyways, I used to watch way more VH1 than I do now, and a ton more than I watched MTV. Because even though MTV was aimed at my demographic, I despised the lack of music on Music Television. So why isn't a channel out there taken advantage of this niche that isn't being served? There should be 2 or 3 companies jumping at the chance to serve our tastes, that is music television that actually plays music, with a healthy helping of non mainstream music.

Heck, someone make a channel that plays all kinds of music, with alot of 'underground' stuff, and syndicate Beavis and Butthead, Ren and Stimpy and other animated series that are out on the edge, and I'll watch religiously. But devote no more than 12 hours weekly to anything other than music.

They've become these bizarre lifestyle networks; you know, shows like "Cribs" (notice you never see any BOOKS in the palaces of the rich and shallow?), "Real World Part 2,041,216", etc. Ugh. The truth of it is, pretty much all of the basic cable channels suck now. But the music channels are the worst--they might as well give themselves some other name, because music is about the last thing you'll see on them.

No, I would bet that it's more to do with this cultural voyeurism labeled reality TV. It's funny how someone like Paris Hilton, who's never accomplised anything outside of being born into wealth, is now considered a celebrity. Hell, that's just a reflection of the White House, isn't it?

11. VH1 has gone to hell

They used to do a lot of cool music stuff. They did history of Rock N Roll segment and some really cool Behind the Music.

They even played the Made for TV movie "The Sixties" which was cool and some other music type shows.

I absolutely despise shit like "Faboulous life of..." No offense, but I don't give a rats ass that Brittney Spears spends $5,000 an hour to have coffee flown to her. I don't care that J-Lo, the Queen of all money whores, spends $20,000 on her eye lashes.

I want music...by musicians and a lot less documentarys on why some people should NOT make a certain income. 5K an hour to fly coffee to her? How about this Spears...Get your coffee from 7-11 and rebuild a couple cities.
