I'm listening to the Canucks game right now on the Internet...ain't it great? (Anyone know where I could find streaming video; that would be even better!:))

How did you all do?

Edit: YVR scored 1-0:)

3. I love hockey and I'd gladly contribute to this thread....
...but as a Sharks fan I'm not sure how much you'd be interested in hearing me gloat.

Anyone want to make any predictions as to who'll actually win the Cup? As per my grossly uninformed opinion, my money's on Tampa beating Detroit in 7 games.

5. I don't think Tampa will be able to get passed the flyers.
In all honesty, the Flyers style will grind down Tampa's offense. My prediction will be Flyers over Detroit in 5 games.

Just How many times did The Flyers beat Tampa during the regular season?
Perhaps......zero! The Flyers are toast.

Now that the Blues are out, though, I desire for either YVR or TPA to win.

Edit: spelling

4. i'm pleased about the flyers
I'm an East Coast hockey fan, and would rather not ever see a southern or west coast team ever win the Cup. Since Pittsburgh isn't in the running (hahaha, maybe we'll have better luck next year), i'm really pulling for the Flyers, since they're cross-state, and I think they work really hard and deserve it.

20. Pittsburgh had better have
more luck next year. They did end the season pretty well, though. They are my faves and I always have hope.

Kerry looked pretty good on the ice for an old dude. In fact, he looked pretty athletic on the slopes too.

9. The new MTS Centre in Winnipeg is opening soon...

15,015 seats, 48 luxury suites, club seating, bar/microbrewery, team store, restaurant, automated club-seat ordering, etc. A real state-of-the-art moneymaker.

I can't wait for the Jets to come back. Rumour has it that the owner of either the Hurricanes or the Panthers wants to relocate their team. And with the new CBA being discussed (revenue sharing, salary caps), hockey in a smaller market like Winnipeg will be able to survive. There's already a hardcore fan base there.

BRING BACK THE JETS IN 2006!!!

(From a former... and current, Jets fan)

22. did something happen at a Boston/Montreal game this week???
I heard someone on the radio say something about a game played in Canada, and that the fans booed the US National Anthem. I know that had happened atleast once last year. Did it happen again this year?? Other than the one guy on the radio, I haven't heard anyone else talk about it. Granted, living in the south, hockey news tends to be a bit lacking. I love hockey, and am somewhat enjoying the playoffs, but a little disappointed the Thrashers didn't make it again this year. Hopefully they will make the playoffs soon!!!...Kevin.

From what I understand, Canadians hate the shrub.

27. Yea, I think you are...
probably right about Canadians not liking shrub*. However, I don't agree with, and think it is in poor taste to boo the National Anthem. Sure, it is just a song, but I think it is a bit insulting. Also, one reason many folks watch sports is an escape from the stuff going on in the real world, like family problems, job problems, or political problems....and I think that kinda mixes them. Frankly, I think Canadians can, so to speak, get away with more things than Americans typically can. As an example, during the winter olympics in Salt Lake City a couple years ago. Apparently, the Canadian womens hockey team knew the person that poured the ice surface. While pouring the ice, they had him embed a Canadian coin (loon maybe) in the ice at center ice. I think that had that happened in Canada, and a USA coin was put in the ice, there would be an enormous uproar, and probably offical appologies would have to be made. If I went to a hockey game, and booed the Canadian national anthem, because of policies that country made, I think there is a strong chance a person from Canada would probably want to fight. Just my two and a third cents worth...Kevin.
