Let's say you recieved an inheritance that stipulated you must spend it all in 30 days. How would you spend it?

Oh, and hire a french chef and pay him his/her full annual salary up front. Among other things.

6. House, Car...
Some more computers to play with, start my software business, then I would gamble. But not in AC. I would gamble on the lives of people who have never gotten a chance.I would make some lives SERIOUSLY better. Quickly.

Starting by buying some homes for Easter Seals group residences for psychiatric consumers. perhaps build that most rare of beasts, a MICA facility.Setup a scholarship program for psychiatric consumers.

I have thought about this a lot.It is the dream that really keeps me going.

7. A bit weird
I'd buy some farm out of the country with plenty of land, plants, animals, etc. and build a large, self-contained solar monolithic dome house. Maybe it's my :tinfoilhat: but this country and state of the world make me nervous. The rest I'd give to family and charity.

take a vacation around the States to visit all my relatives, and I honestly don't know where I'd spend the rest, so I'd have to invest the rest of it after consuting with an investment counselor.

I would probably buy the home in Europe, and not in the States.

But the game would be more difficult if you actually had to SPEND all the money in 30 days. I can't think of 10 Mill of stuff to buy!

edit: And I'd give some to relatives, and donate a good chunk

Buy a house, a Bentley or Aston Martin, off to London for a custom-tailored wardrobe and hand-lasted shoes, pay in advance for a 30-year contract on a T-3 data line, and spent the rest on precious metals. (It'll be spent, and I'd be able to get a lot of it back, minus the brokerage fees, etc.)

23. That's easier than you think
A couple of homes across the country or the world, furniture to put in them, some jewelry, some cars, perhaps a small jet, gift certificates to spend later or to give to people, and at least $1 million to my favorite charities. OR set up a charitable foundation and draw a modest salary on it for quite a while. The other thing is to buy bearer bonds and savings bonds which you can't spend for 6 months, after which you can cash them in.

I'd also try to help out some of my closest friends who are in dire debt, and leave a portion as an annuity for myself upon reaching 65.

who, if we didn't have any debt, (in other words, if all we had to come up with every month was groceries, light bill, internet bill, and gasoline) would give the majority of our income to worthy causes. In the long run, that approach would get more money into social services, plus take the albatross of debt off all of our necks. :D

41. Sounds like fun!
Let's start with a 2001 Learjet 45 - that's $7,500,000.00

And how about a Mercedes Maybach? - a bargain at #353,000.00

A private island would be nice. Pipe Island, in Michigan, can be had for a mere $1,900,000.00.

New York can be lovely in the Spring - and the Pierre Hotel in New York offers a presidential suite for just $3,800 per night. Even if we visit the island during the 30 days, we'll keep the room - $114,000.00.

Let's see now - I have a mere $133,000 to spend!

I'll need a staff, of course. A valet, a chauffer, a personal secretary, a chef, a pastry chef, a sous chef, and a scullery maid. With some benefits and good pay for all of those folks, there goes about $30,000 - leaving $103,000.

The third floor Club Room at 21 in New York would be nice for dinner - and of course I'd bring the staff along! (Don't laugh. I'd be renting some friends.) That would be $1,200 per night. I wouldn't want to hurt my chef's feelings, so I'd only go out 4 times - say, $6,000 including a really nice tip.

I'd need some suits, of course - tailor made, naturally - for about $2,500 each. I'll get 10. And some shoes from John Lobb - at $4,500 per pair, why not get 4 pair? I still have $63,000 left!

I may as well get some shirts - say $150 each. I'll get a nice selection - say...40. That brings me down to $57,000.

And that should take care of the fuel for the jet!

If anything is left, I'll pick up a Rolex. They range from $65,000 down, so this should consume the change.

My what a greedy little piggy I am! But it was fun! :)

43. Dropping Out Of Poetry Mode For A Moment...

I'd use it to stir as much shit as I could in that time.

$1 million to the Democratic Party in the name of George Bush.
$1 million to Planned Parenthood in the name of Pope John Paul II
$1 million to Lambda Legal Defense in the name of John Ashcroft.
$1 million to PETA in the name of Ted Nugent.
$1 million to Liz Taylor's AIDS organization from Fred Phelps.
$1 million to NAACP from the Ku Klux Clan
$1 million to the JDL in the name of the Aryan Nations.

.... well you get the picture!

Then after the $10 mil was gone, I'd sit back, switch on the TV set and watch the *hellacious* catfight! "We WON'T take this filthy money..." "Oh YES WE WILL!" "Now JUST a damn MINUTE!" "HEY!!!" "I NEVER GAVE THAT MONEY!!!" "You BASTARDS!"

*snicker* The organizations accepting the cash would be outraged (but still, some good would be done!) and the supposed "donors" would be humiliated beyond words! Sad that I couldn't keep and invest the money, but the good usage gotten from it and the gigantic public outcry would entertain me for decades!

Oh... and in each gift envelope would be the secret instructions that the money was to be spent on acquiring nuclear devices!

I'd figure 2mil would be enough to set me up for life. I know, that's not alot of money, but my tastes aren't that expensive plus I'd probably still work at a job although doing something in politics (behind the scenes) and buy a nice home someplace.

But I'd take that last 8 mil and I'd invest in campaign signs & commericals that would be used to help get Bush out of office

71. First, pay off college debts
Then,

- Give a lot to charities and the Democrats.
- Buy very nice houses and services for life for me, my family, and grandfather.
- Buy lots of the CDs I've been wanting :-)

72. Two words: crack whores
Just kidding. I'd go with the pricey prostitutes.

No, I'm lying. Well, I'd probably pay off my mortgage, buy a bunch of high-tech stuff, and maybe get myself a newer car. Can I spend it on buying stock? Mutual funds? Other investments?

73. permaculture
I would build a self sustaining community. With a few hundred acres we could get off the grid. Windmills, dams, solar. It would be like Melrose Place hippie style. Even a little plane to fly people in for medical treatment and supplies. Most stuff would be produced on site. The rest we could order.

dreammy..

77. How much does a used F-14A Tomcat go for?
I mean, if I'm not some US-friendly despot set on opressing my own people. More than ten million, right?
