I just want to say thank you, DU - useful two years
Hello everybody,

now, it's about two years since i started reading at DU. After the stolen election i'don't understand what's happening in the united states. but i'm living in bloody old europe, far away (germany) and didn't concern too much. i thought bush is an idiot and america is a big country. big enough to survive this funny fool.

but then comes 9/11 and i was shocked. i never believed the official story of osama, but i said to myself, well, let's see the evidence.
nothing happend. until today, i didn't see any evidence about osama and his delinquent. but i found a bush corp. with strong relationships to the bin laden clan, to oil and energy industry, i found strong relationships from the cia and the pakistani isi, and i see that the whole corporate media, even in germany, stop to investigate.

no one starts to ask questions. no one wants to know why there was insider trading in the days before 9/11. no one want to know why there are logical holes as big as aircraft-carriers. no one askes why anthrax from american biolabs kills the own people.

i started to read websites like paul thomsons timeline, globalresearch from canada, start thinking about theories of Noam Chomsky. and, to understand why nothing happens, i started to read DU. i found information about carlyle group, about corp. like halliburton, things like PNAC and NWO, and even stranger things like skull&bones.
after that, i was concerned.

some saudi-arabiens from afghanistan with financial support from pakistan and saudi-arabia under the cover of german and american secret services attack the usa and what happend? bush give the order to invade iraq. based on ridiculous lies about mass-destruction-weapons. against the whole united nations apart from the poodle.

and every day, when i start to read media, i read something like axis of evil, syria or iran next step on war-agenda. my own government said no to war against iraq, but that was election campain. if i listen today, i hear opposition politics saying, time to send troops to irak. or government which supports the breaking of united nations rules. preventive wars? ok, if our master bush says, we have to think about.
its not funny and its not only an american problem.

freaks like perle, wolfowitz, rumsfeld, you find simialar guys in europe and they really like to play the same game.
after all, i feel like a figure in a george orwell novell or like neo and wish to wake up and find out everything was only a dream or took the false pill. but it's reality.

but there are some things which let me believe that there is hope. DU and many other websites worldwide show me, that many people think simialar and i'am not alone with my mind about what happend to the world after three years bush. that there is resistance.
hard to believe that four years ago, the blowjob of monica lewinsky was the main political problem in the world.

i have to find an end. sorry for my really bad expression and mistakes, it's easy for me to read english, but very difficult to write, i've no practice in talking, so thanks for attention and i'am working on that issue.
in a final step: something to laugh
A serenade for Bush

greeting and with kind regards,
for the next 2 years
ps: please vote - but stop bush

4. nice lie
"Your english is fine..."
:)
i don't believe that and i think my english teacher would kill my for that post, but sometimes it's not important to be without mistakes.
it's important to communicate.
by the way, i feel right at home, even if i write not much, i'am reading very, very, very much. it's an obsession of me. and thanks god, my job got something to do with internet, so i'am able to read the whole day.

did you ever heard of Leopold knight of Sacher-Masoch? born 1836 in lemberg? "The venus in furs", his most popular book creates the term of masochism.
i'am not of that kind.
you really got my whole compassion to live in a country with those guys.

7. indeed, difficult
but i have use translators often, so it's hard work for me to write english. and of course, i'am writing very much in german, for me DU is relaxation and time to read and inform. you have really great authors here. another problem: i love to write, playing with words. write fluently. it's hard to speak like a three years old child.
yes, i anathematize my laziness in school. ;)

from people around the world on the mess our 'illustrious leader' has made of things. I wish more Americans had the determination to become as informed as you have.

No need to apologie. Your English is a lot better than my Russian.

On edit: I messed up my 1000th post! I forgot to paste the 'z' again. It's been necessary since I fried that particular letter in a coffee spilling incident a couple months ago.

1000 posts, in my speed i only need 40 years *g*.
coffee and keyboars, a diabolic relationship. don't ask. my 4th keyboard last 2 years. "Your English is a lot better than my Russian."
ever heard of wladimir kaminer?
strong buy, my commendation. best living german author, hope he's available in english or russian. (i forgot, of course he's russian)

but there is a little difference. no englishman likes to hear, angels and saxons are german tribes.
a long time ago they went to england. but, it's a kinship. so every german who don't speak english or dutch or even french fluently is only lazy. these languages are very simialar. russian is really difficult. 6 cases and authors like dostojewski. like greek or arabic, something completly different. it's not the same league. ;)

8. Slack, your English
puts my nonexistent German to SHAME! And I enjoyed your post - you said a mouthful (to throw a little American colloquialism at you ;-) ).

Hope to see you around here more often.

10. thanks
sometimes its difficult for me, i don't like to be disrespectful.
i have a strong relationship to south-africa, england and from the german part of my family (where i grow up) to america. i was born in berlin and everybody there remembers kennedy and his statement for this town. it's not easy to say, hey, you're walking into the footsteps of the german 3rd Reich. Bush is comparable with Hitler and the war against iraq and the axis of evil seems to be like the german war against russia. you're moving on the same reasons to war (preventive), have a look at nürnberger judgements.

i don't want to affront americans, but it's not only an american problem. we have to decide between american and europeen neo-imperialism and the modell of an equal world. i think the abuse of power is the false way and we need to restist against this hubris.

13. you don't risk offending anyone on this board
by stating opposition to Bush and his monstrous policies. A lot of people shy away from the Nazi comparisons because they want to believe that what is happening now is somehow not as bad. Many Americans (not the ones you'll meet on DU) have a "superiority complex," and believe that this country can never be wrong. In fact, "my country, right or wrong" was and still is a popular nationalist rallying cry here. Nobody who holds that view wants to hear that Germans under the Third Reich held the same belief. But I think we'd all be well-advised to recognize the similarities between now and then that you point out.

17. "superiority complex"
my father left south africa because of the superiority complex, he works for the anc after he quitted the south african army. he never believes in the superiority of the white race. i'am proud of him, and i'am proud that mandela was able to forgive (and what he thinks of bush). my grandfather was german soldier in russia, he quitted army in 1944 to fight against hitler. i have the two far the worst regimes in my family history and i got no doubt with my comparings. but it might be necessary to make the experience of the worst case, to believe whats really behind the "superiority complex". it's never a country, its the humanity which counts.

I read your words with an accent - and it's quite sexy!

Thank you for posting your fears and your words of encouragement. They are well understood, and they mean a LOT!

It never ceases to amaze (and embarrass) me that so many europeans know so much more about our administration than many of our own citizens. I know next to nothing about German politics, and my English isn't much better than yours even though it's my only language!

You are right, though - GWB and his cronies threaten the world, not just us. We're doing all we can - I swear to you, we are. I don't think we could survive another 4 years with this crew.

(edited weird comma.... see, I told you! LOL)
