My geology professor died today.
On Friday night, I told you all about my geology prof and how he had a stroke last week. Details can be found here.
Apparently he was doing well up until Friday morning, when he was taken into ICU. At that time, he had massive brain hemorrhaging. He died Saturday morning at the age of 62.

Peter was more than a geology professor to me. He was also a friend. I would go to his house occasionally and talk to him about whatever. He was there for me when my grandpa died two months ago. He's been there for me whenever I needed him.

He will surely be missed. :(

1. Sympathies
It is hard to lose a friend, and know you will never share another conversation with them.

3. I'm sorry
there are a few professors I had in college that I would miss terribly if they passed away.

Can I ask what college this is?

7. ***tears for you*****
goodness....this is heart-breaking!!!!

Geology people are special in my book. The field attracts the most decent kinds... and usually with terrific dry wit.

Peace to you and to his ascending soul....

8. My condolences on the loss of your friend
There's nothing like having a learned friend to learn from and bounce ideas off (sorry for the ungrammatical sentence).

She started out as a mentor and ended up being a friend. My condolences.

She came down with cancer of the liver and was gone within a year. She was only 55 years old when she died.

12. Oh, I'm so sorry, Van Helsing
I had a friendship like that with my creative writing professor, one that lasted until she died in the late 1980s.

13. Thanks all.
It's just been really hard these past couple of days. Peter was just more than a professor to most of us. He was a friend.

I'm glad there's people like you guys around who do care. I have had to put up with a lot of insensitive jerks the last couple of days. I'm just glad that you guys are here to help me through it. To that, I say thank you. :yourock: :grouphug:
