What will you be doing on election night?
I suspect a close election again. Another nail biter.

What will you be doing on election night in November?

For the sake of this message, let's assume Kerry wins!

1. Celebrate
2. Cry together.

I hope we get to celebrate!!! That wont happen without hard work though.

3. Listening to NPR and hitting "reload" a lot
Then I will pray without ceasing until he's actually inaugurated. I have no difficulty believing that the * misadministration might do something that makes it impossible for him to be inaugurated. What? I have no idea and don't want to say what my imagination comes up with. :scared:

...this is probably the best place to be on election night....both for the triumph & the sorrow...lots of popping of corks or <[[[[[[ hugs >]]]]]]], depending on how it goes.

14. Really? I'm Going To Try to Get Tuesday Off
To volunteer to go into African American neighborhoods and drive people to the polls so Jeb (I'm in Florida) can't send the police out to stop potential voters for DWB.

Anyway, then I will try to listen to returns on Air America radio (over the Internet) while surfing DU of course!

If Bush steals it again, I will probably call in sick on Wednesday.

21. Honestly, so far,,,folks are not listening
to the facts of *bush's failure....they only hear the propaganda. I expect *bush will win....I don't see Kerry making a national impact yet. I wish it were different but I don't see an upsurg yet. *bush has taken some heat but the issues are rolling off his back....That is what scares me!

I hope Kerry begins to play his cards.

...which is a polling place. We'll have a big screen TV set up in the lobby to watch results come in. Then I'll be partying or calling my therapist on her cell phone, depending.

Let's think party!

12. I'll be at my congressional district's election-night HQ,
watching returns and hopefully watching Jim Sensenbrenner sweat a bit (on TV). I'm realistic -- I don't think we'll take F. Jim out, but I think it might be a lot closer than anyone expects.

I'm taking Election Day off to do GOTV/whatever else is needed; I'm taking the next day off to recuperate (regardless of who wins).

Which will be sufficiently nerve-wracking LOL. I don't think the election will be that close, and Kerry will pull out a win pretty early in the evening.

Then I'll be drinking in a bar in celebration :-)

33. I like your approach best
Though I'd like to suggest perhaps a goal of one 'special moment' for each state won by the Good Guys. If every DUer shot for that, just imagine the plethora of beneficial vibrations that might radiate outward (perhaps sufficient to realign the planets and cancel Un'Really's Fox show).

Either way, it'll be very intimate, with just the TV to keep me company. :-)

This would certainly be better than enduring the suspense alone. Remember election night 2000?! What a nightmare! Dan Rather, with his amazing metaphors, and Bob Shieffer, with his advice of bipartisanship that was never followed, and me, with my stomach all tied up in knots. Never again.

If I'm down here at college I'll be in a friends room screaming at the TV, followed by jubilation down at Church Point. If I make it up to DC, the screaming at the TV will be followed by much "nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah" ing at the White House.

41. Depends on how close it is
I'll hang at the local Dem headquarters if it's going well. If it's really close, I'll go to bed and wake up at 3 or 4 in the morning and try to figure out what happened. If Kerry wins, I'll start screaming and wake everyone up. If Kerry loses, I'll start throwing things, screaming, and wake everyone up.
