Any electricians or handy types?

I had a small meltdown (literally) this morning. Upon smelling something funny, I discovered an electrical outlet smoldering. It was in the kitchen and the culprit seems to be the microwave as it's plug was melted also. It was used earlier this morning. We removed the charred material and capped the ends of the wires with wire nuts. I plan on calling an electrician tomorrow, but am a little concerned about leaving it as such in the meantime. Unfortunately, it's on the same breaker as the refrigerator, so turning the breaker off isn't really an option. Is this safe or should i get out the extension cord for the fridge?

1. Turn off the breaker. Run the refrig from another circuit, until the

electrician checks it out tomorrow...(when you run the refrig. ex. cord, to another receptacle, unplug anything you won't be needing on that circuit, just to be on the safe side from overload). And be sure to use a heavy duty extention cord.

Not an electrician, but it sounds like you aren't sure if the problem was the microwave plug or the socket. That makes the odds 50/50 that you're going to set your house on fire.
