Soak bread in brandy overnight, take it outside, throw a match on it, douse the fire with dirt, shake the toast thoroughly to remove the dirt, butter, and eat.

honest to gosh, set fire to her kitchen making toast. She doesn't cook much. Never has. She has a toaster and thought the 'toast' process would be simple. So she put the bread in the toaster and went in to take a shower. Came out to flames leaping up the walls.
She'd buttered the toast before she put it in the toaster.
We no longer allow her to apply heat to food.

I had a friend in high school that was unable to make a sandwich for himself because he had to cut bread and other difficult things like that..
