Loading ALL my music onto a hard drive..... |
|
I'm not even 75% done and It's already taking up 40 gigabytes of an 80 gig hard drive.
It will be nice to have all this stuff backed up in digital form, especially if I take the plunge into an iPod, but still.
1,500 cds takes up a lot of computer space. Talk about a soft addiction.

1. After you've put them on your hard drive, you should ... |
|
Back up your HD by burning them to CD's.

get all the stuff into your hard drive, and then bring out the old blank 8-tracks. You'll never need anything else in so far as music formats.

2. OMG! You should wait until they come out with a 100 gig |
|
iPod...I am sure it will happen some time. I have a 20 gigger and still have about six gigs of space left. Then again I don't have all of my CDs on it.

4. What format? What bitrate? |
|
I recommend mp3 at 192 bitrate.
Sounds almost like CD quality, and takes up less space than WAV.

5. I'm definitely doing MP3, but at VBR... |
|
My understanding that was a preferable method. If I am wrong though, I may need to do some converting.
