13. Yeah...
.....ya have to laugh.

The way the Sox fans have been booing A-Rod all weekend, of course they'd be loving him if Red Sox ownership had of gone the extra mile.....A-Rod was prepared to.

The word 'fickle' springs to mind.

15. well it's not the management's fault it didn't go through
it was the idiotic player's union that fucked it all up.

But who cares, I found the reaction in Boston to the Yankees getting A-Rod priceless. It made me love the Yankees for this season.

20. Maybe so...
...but from I've read and heard there still was a possibility of it happening if Sox ownership really wanted it to.

Yeah, the players union is fucked up but they're also a nice fallguy for Red Sox management to blame too.

After all, the Yankees could get it done and the Red Sox couldn't.

23. I think the deal with the yanks worked much better for texas
Soriano is hitting almost .400, stealing bases, and hitting home runs. Because I'm actually a Rangers fan (but letting them go this season, might come back if they decide that pitching might be a good thing to have) I liked this deal much more. Manny is a whiney bitch sometimes. Alfonso > Manny.

25. You're right
nope. your right. all Sox fans are MORANS

Yep, you're right. They must be morans if they didn't want the best player in baseball.

After all, they were going to send Nomar to the White Sox to open up SS for A-Rod.
Or were the Sox fans salivating and going crazy at the thought of Pokey Reese playing SS.

Come on, Matcom! If we were talking about the Sox getting Rey Ordonez, I'd believe you but it's A-Rod for crying out loud.

A-Rod!

Sheesh. :eyes:

29. yup A-Rod
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 01:37 PM by matcom
the same A-Rod who had exactly ONE hit (single) in this 4 game series and committed THREE errors :eyes:

THAT A-ROD?

look. the Sox are a different kind of team. "TEAM" being the operative word.

would we have taken A-Rod? DAMNED STRAIGHT except....

EXCEPT... he ain't as important as the COMBINATION of players we got. Manny(yes he can whine), Nomar(the ONLY reason Pokey is playing is because he is injured - so strawman out), Johnny Damon, Ortiz, Meuller, Kaplan, Nixon, etc.. etc.. etc..

Frankly Schilling was a FAR FAR better pick up for this team than A-Rod would have been.

he wasn't worth the fucking money. period. not in the scope of things

32. they (BoSox) have like the second highest payroll in baseball
it's hypocritical for bosox fans to bitch about money in baseball. Their top three pitchers are making more than the entire Devil Rays team or someting.

41. I don't mean it affects which team I root for
It just dampens my affection for the game. Money and drugs, I mean. I'd still root for the Yanks if I were a fan no matter the money or drugs, it's just that those two things have done more than anything else to bring down the sport.

I hope that made more sense. I'm not very good at this. :)
