If I were to make a FEMALE singer with the most soul POLL... |
|
Edited on Mon Apr-19-04 01:32 PM by Mobius
who do you think should be included? I encourage repeats, because I will make the poll based on who is listed the most. This way everyone should be happy with who I put in the poll:)

6. You know I heard Pink sing "bobby mcgee" at an awards show |
|
and I was shocked at how good she was. Chritina Aguillera also is very soulful, but I just dont think she has the milage to be in this poll.

My first instinct among country artists is Loretta Lynn, but that's because I've been listening to a lot of her recently. Patsy Cline, though, is up there with the aforementioned.
(Except the Rev. Franklin's daughter.)

Some argue she could have been Aretha if not for her hard living. Fortunately, she is cleaned up, but rather unfortunately, she now counts corporate booking and near-perpetual touring among her endeavors.
Oh, and Tina Turner. Hands down.
She too has gone the regrettable soft-rock route, but in her day, man...
