Its a freaking sound effect, and one soda has never made to my knowledge. You open a soda and it makes a "pshh" sound, you shake a can of soda up and toss it off a 5 story building (don't ask) and it makes a sorta "crunkfssssssssssshhhhhh" sound. On the other hand, if you're offering me a hand-mixed blend of carbonated water and flavoured syrup, that's definitely a "soda," usually an "Italian soda." On the third hand, if it comes prefabbed in a can, it's definitely pop. :)
