18. how do employers check work history?
is it by the person's references or is there a secret way of finding out if they lied?
I lie and still don't get interviews, so I wonder if they can find out somehow.

25. A resume-related question
I hear lots of stories about resumes that are just laughably badly-written and have obvious mistakes (i.e. glaring typos, inclusion of information that would have anyone with common sense saying "what is this person thinking?"). How often do you get those? Would you say the majority of the resumes do or don't follow at least basic common sense and etiquette?

27. what do you mean by "crappy email addresses"?
Email addresses that don't work? That are hosted at cheesy servers? Or addresses that are just really unprofessional-looking (like "john at chinga-tu-madre.com")?

P.S. One of my friends actually does use the domain name "chinga-tu-madre.com" for his email address for strictly personal correspondence -- but he has the good sense not to use it in business dealings.
