What New England destination should we go to for our 16th anniversary?
In the running: Newport, Block Island. Any other suggestions? Just want a night or two away and not much driving. If you have any recommendations for Newport or Block as far as accommodations, do tell.

Thanks DU!

1. Popham Beach, Maine
My husband's side of the family goes there every summer. They filmed "Message in a Bottle" nearby (Phippsburg, ME)

7. How about a weekend in the Berkshires?
There are some lovely bed & breakfasts, and you can't beat the beauty of the countryside. You'll find art galleries, interesting shopping, and oftentimes excellent music at one of the nearby colleges.

5. Vermont
We like the Equinox in Manchester. There's lots of good food, fishing, hiking, off roading, shopping and the hotel is old and romantic.
