This morning, I called the guy who interviewed me for a driving job last Tuesday. He said that he hadn't forgotten about me, but still had two other candidates to interview for the position.
So, I went to another place that had advertised for a driver/warehouse person (auto parts) and filled out an application. However, the boss man was on a conference call and said he'd have to get back to me.
Meanwhile, none of us at my soon-to-be ex-job have been told exactly when the store is closing for good. And to top it all off, Lisa (a/k/a liberalhistorian) and I STILL haven't actually met!
Nothing like having your whole goddamned life up in the air, huh? :argh:

Jobless in a field that's so specialized you have to wait for someone to die for a position to open, bankrupt, divorcing, down to close to zero dollars, probably in strife with the IRS, been sleeping on a couch for four and a half months (and counting), and I had two hours' sleep last night.
But at least it's not raining.

Damn man, it's been ages. Sorry your life's not going better, but it's good to see you back at DU.

3. Howdy, Mister (or should that be Mystery?) Train! |
|
I can say exactly the same to you, and also mean it -- and the really good thing (better than it not raining) is that it's all going to get better for both of us. Nothing like bottoming out, or near enough to it, to provoke a fresh and better start. Hang in there, dude, and we'll laugh about this stuff someday. Like maybe tomorrow... :D

5. I'm like too with my job |
|
I had my fourth set of interviews. I was told that she would call me today, but she hasn't. She has called me later than she said after the other interviews. I fear though that I must have really messed up or something. I was so nervous, so overwhelmed and I think that showed. I think I took the wrong approach to everything. Sorry to be so self centered. I hope that you hear about the positions you applied for soon and the hiring process is a lot shorter than I have been through in interviewing for my potential job.

8. I hear you! I feel your pain! |
|
I'm still waiting to hear about a job (they said "April sometime"). Otherwise, I'm going to be out of benefits in 3 months or so...yeek!
I'm not to the bottom yet, but I can definitely see it approaching at terminal velocity...
I'd say mix yourself a big drink, have a bath or a hot shower, and get a good night's sleep. Maybe things will look better in the morning.
