I just heard a tree fall behind my house
Unbelievably windy. I'm sitting on the porch enjoying this insanely warm weather and Creek, Crunch, Snap, Crunch more and crash. The ground shook.

Lucky it sounded like it was away from everything meaningful. Hopefully on asshole's side of the wall... ;)

3. Don't say that
I have 4 (or is it 5?) huge oak trees in my relatively small backyard and one (or two) isn't looking so good. However, $1500 for removal of one tree is financial priority #257, so I just quietly....knock wood and hope for the best. (drum roll) :7

4. We have people going around taking them for free now
there's a shortage of wood. only problem is they aren't neat so I won't let them have my Oaks which I'd love to get rid of.

6. That was the place they were going to actually test
the theory about if no one heard it....

Now we'll never know.

Why, oh why, did you have to be there?

7. My dog heard it too
Have you ever heard one fall in the woods?

It is really quite beautiful.

First you hear creaking as it stresses beyond reason then usually a massive Snap followed by all sorts of crunching as it takes out other tree branches on the way down.

9. Grrrr - Downed Tree Report - I know you care
It was a massive and old white pine that died this winter.

Really sucks because it never made it down. It got hung up in other trees and now I have the horrendous job of finishing the task.

The final crash I heard was a smaller tree that this one knocked out of its way.

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, New York (AP) -- A large tree fell onto a parkway and hit a moving car, killing a couple and injuring a baby girl who was a passenger, police said.

The tree fell across all four lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway north of New York City at about 6 p.m. Monday and smashed onto the back of a southbound SUV, rolling it over onto the shoulder, where it came to rest on its roof.

13. But that is not the question professor impersonator
The question is:

"If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound."

There is nothing about me being there to hear it or you being there, the question is about Anyone hearing it. In this case someone was there to hear it so there is no answer to the riddle.

:spank:
