help out a (semi) newbie here please

i see under "options" i can Mark a thread so that i know i've read it all. how do i do that? I don't want to hide them, just mark them so i know if there is a new post

can anyone tell me?

1. Gosh I've never used that feature.

3. Click on the icon that looks like this:

It will mark all of the threads in that particular forum as having been read. It won't hide anything, it just changes the color. Try it out. :)

4. When you hit the "Mark" button...

The little icons in the left margin go gray - showing that they're all now "old".

When you come back to that forum, the icons on any new posts will be yellow, showing that they've been added since you left.

The "Mark All" button in the Lobby does the same simultaneously for all forums.
