It's moving SSW to NNE, and it rained like a big cow pissing on a flat rocvk here about 9:00 a.m.--- 1.1 inches in just under 40 minutes. Put your rubbers on. :P

mid-afternoon, it was: 57 degrees in Fargo 40 degrees in Duluth and 87 in Twin Cities
cold front, anyone?
some dandy thunderstorms moved through around 8 p.m.

When I lived in the SF Bay area, it would be over 100 degrees in the Valley, then we'd drive through the tunnel into Oakland and it would be in the 60s -- in less than a mile. And SF itself is known for its microclimates.
But if you want weather rock & roll, the midwest is the place: it can drop from 100 degrees to 50 degrees in an hour -- with the accompanying thunderstorms, derechos, and tornado warnings.
