Kindly share your favorite SPRINGSTEEN tune
On a day in day out basis, mine is probably Nebraska, cuz I'm a sick fuck, even though in terms of emotional impact Atlantic City from the same record is probably the stronger song. But just to be difficult, I'll go with Seeds from E Street Band Live 75-85. Nobody's ever sounded angrier about anything.

(Note: if you just can't make up your mind, just post the first thing that comes in your head, then post something else later. I assure you nobody will think less of you.)

Yours?

18. Not really following the connection. Saying this song is in praise of
S. Jersey is kind of like Reagan trying to use Born In The USA as a campaign song. Truly great song, but it gives about as cheerful a picture of Atlantic City as the Malle film also of the same name.

10. I love Springsteen, at every concert he urges people not to vote for Bush!
He is a good man and a good democrat, good bless.

Actually Philidelphia is my favorite Springsteen song, I just like it.

But Born in the USA is a close second, but only b/c Springsteen told Reagan to fuck off.

12. I've always loved the last half of the "Born to Run" album
Beginning with "Born To Run", followed by "She's The One", "Meeting Across The River", and concluding with "Jungleland", I've always loved the mood these songs together evoke for me.

28. I'll second that
"Spirit in the Night" is a perfect song. Great lyrics, dramatic, a little bit of soul, rock n' roll. With the obligatory car reference, it's kinda the blueprint for what you might call "the Springsteen song," the most definitive being "Born to Run," my other favorite.

"The E Street Shuffle" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze Out" are the best Springsteen rave-ups.

"Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?" is my most obscure favorite.

"Mary Queen of Arkansas" is hands-down the worst song. That and all of his most recent album.

"I hid in the clouded wrath of the crowd but when they said "Sit down" I stood up."

Very powerful stuff to me when I heard it at 15. Now I'm an old fart and I still stand up.

34. Two live tracks, one legit, one bootleg...
"Thunder Road" live, from the '75-'85 Box Set. Just Bruce and the piano. Genius.

"Incident On 57th Street" from the radio broadcast, live from the Main Point in Pennsylvania, Feb. 5, 1975. Stunningly brilliant. Never fails to move me. I think I'll listen to it now.

Oh yeah---he's got a few other snappy numbers too!

36. "Born to Run" is the first one that popped into my head, but
there are so many great ones "Thunder Road" and "Rosalita" are a couple of more of my favorites. My favorite of the lesser-known ones, which was also one of the first songs that got me into Springsteen, is "It's Hard to Be a Saint in the City."

Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 04:34 PM by undisclosedlocation
but I keep my lips buttoned, as I'm not sure what the gf would think about me singing this song REAL LOUD. (And no, the gf situation isn't the one inspiring me to sing "Trapped"; just life in general).
