Last Night I ate Sushi, and Today I feel kinda Crappy |
|
I have never gotten sick from Sushi before, but today I have a bloated belly, a touch of diarrhea, and feel gassy and achy. Could I have food poisoning? The sushi tasted fine (in fact, it was DELICIOUS). I don't feel pukey or anything, but when I eat I get the 'rumbles'. Is this a symtom of having a worm?

Those are exactly the symptoms I have after the day after I've had a couple beers. Not so much with wine, but carbohydrate-rich foods like Nigiri rice and beer will get me.

7. No, I just had water with my meal |
|
so this combined with my seasonal allergies has kept me on the couch today (and in the bathroom). :-(

2. It would have been really funny if you'd said you felt "crappie" |
|
like the fish. :D
Yeah, you might have a touch of something there. Maybe a slight bit of cross-contamination.

Crappy (crappie) is a kind of fish caught in inland lakes.
Pronounced "croppie".
Just thought I'd let ya know.
Take some Pepto Bismol, and stop carpin'!

Was living in Lewiston, Maine when I met my wife and she got a job here in Carlisle at Dickinson College in 1980 and we've been here ever since. But we get back north quite a lot. And you?

there are still some old hippies around, but Cambridge is decidely upscale and expensive these days. It is still very charming though, except for the horrible local traffic.

sounds like it may not have agreed perfectly with you, but I've had the misfortune of having food poisoning before, and let me tell you, you *know* when you have it. It's like the most unpleasant flu you've ever had, all rolled into about 24 hours. Ugh. I still shudder thinking about it.
edit: hey, this wasn't at the porter exchange mall, was it?

it's a really great deal, though I will always remain loyal to Pho Pasteur, not that they're related in any way. I hope you don't develop a psychological aversion to eating there--I ate at the 2nd Avenue Deli in NY the day I got food poisoning, and though I'm not sure there's any connection, I still can't eat there or eat corned beef, matzah ball soup, or Chocolate Babka, which is sad, since I love all of them.

and very inexpensive. There is some great food in Cambridge. I'm sure you ate at Bartley's while you were at Harvard. Every once in a while, I get a real hankering for one of their burgers! :9

It's the only place I know of where just smelling the wafting hamburger scent was like eating a whole meal! Defintely one of the best burger places around, and it's nice that it's avoided the gentrification of the square.
