Going out for Chinese Buffet and Mongolian BBQ tonite
It's called Panda Buffet. Pretty standard chinese buffet fare, wide selection, but I hardly touch it. They have Mongolian BBQ.

There's another buffet of raw ingredients (noodles, veggies of all kinds, beef, chiken, pork, shrimp) and sauces. You get your raw bowl and give it to a guy who puts it on this huge round metal slab and moves it around with giant chopsticks for about 2 minutes. Back into a clean bowl. Lots of soy sauce. Yum.

oh man, I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it. Only another 4 hours or so.

oh. and they have crab legs too. and those donuts that are just pillsburry biscuits deep fried and covered in sugar.

1. Is there a Panda Buffet in every city?
Is it a chain? Maybe it's just a common name...

Mmmm, now I'm getting hungry. I can always count on the lounge for food threads. :)

3. I think it's just a common name
I heard from someone (so who knows if this is true) that there's a company that's chinese immigrants who had a successful chinese restraunt business, so they help new immigrant familes open restraunts all over the country.

The staff is mostly chinese, english CLEARLY as a second language.

Oh man, does that bbq rule. there might be somehting similar in you area. another one that didn't have a buffet, just the grill, opened up in a strip mall here. it seems to be catching on.

6. Yummy
Haven't done that in a while. The last two times that I went to a similiar place, I ate so much regular Chinese food that I wasn't hungry for the Mongolian BBQ. It's good stuff though.
