What did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a Thundercat, specifically Panthro.

5. A gub'mint bureaucrat like my dad.
He was in charge of the Department of Labor Wage & Hour Office in my hometown.

His job (making sure employers paid the minimum wage, etc.) had some part in my becoming a liberal...I'll never forget the unpaid furloughs my dad took when Reagan shut down the government.

Of course, I didn't become a bureaucrat - wish I had, then I'd have some benefits, pension, etc.

10. I spent literally years of my childhood worrying about jail.
I read when I was in grade school that Al Capone went to jail for tax evasion and I had no idea how to pay taxes or when to start paying them. I didn't want to ask for fear of being found out.
Honest.:D

11. Awwww, that's sweet!
It's funny how kids get an idea in their heads and hold on to it.

I wanted to be an archaeologist specifically in Egypt since I was fascinated with Egyptian mythology.

I grew up to be a mortgage banker.

16. Actor or comedian
Some speculated I'd go on stage.

Some actually do now.

But I haven't the memory skills or ability to keep a straight face or ability to speak in front of an audience.

I could be a tv writer... but that's gone the way of the dodo thanks to "reality" tv... :eyes:

26. A firefighter
This was back in the early 70's, and there were probably few female firefighters back then. My parents never questioned it or told me I couldn't be one, even when my kindergarten teacher mentioned it in the parent teacher conference, and thought it was strange.
