Just because you probably won't have heard of this...

Ron Atkinson (ex-football manager of Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest) was a football pundit (ok, soccer pundit) on our 3rd terrestrial channel. He was "punditing" on the Chelsea vs Monaco Champions League Semi-Final Match and had gone off the air in the UK. BUT, it was still on the air broadcasting to an Arab station.

"Big" Ron then said, about Marcel Desailly, the black French central defender who plays for Chelsea, "he is known in some circles as a f****** lazy thick n*****."

He has resigned from his post as pundit and his contract with The Guardian newspaper has been "cancelled with mutual agreement".

You don't have to look far to find a racist anywhere, although in England I found them easier to locate than in most places.

4. Oh so THAT's what he said?!

Heard on the radio this morning that he'd resigned but it was
simply described as "a racist remark" (for obvious reasons).

5. What a fucking twat.....

Big Ron has always made a brilliant commentator, simply because he's always talked absolute gibberish throughout every game - but ENTERTAINING, endearing gibberish.

Now we find out, through this remark, that he's always been a racist tosser, and to be honest I feel cheated and let down. It makes me so angry that he thinks of black players as niggers, and only hides his contempt to make a living out of commentating on them.
