HELP WANTED: One responsible DUer who will NOT be going to DC on 4/25

I need one responsible member of DU who is not going to the march on April 25th. You will be the offical point contact here at DU for the day of the March. You will need to able to access DU and receive phone calls from me on the morning of April 25th. (which means if your phone & online provider use the same number then I can't use you).

You will also be responsible for answering any questions about the March that may be posted that morning and you will have to be able to contact me if there is anything I need to be aware of (so you will also have to be able to make phone calls to a Wilmington DE phone number since that's my cell phone).

Please PM me if you are interested in this position for the day.

Right now I'm guestimating that at least 50 DUers & friends will be joining our delegation at the DC march. So it's going to be very important that we have someone who can help me co-ordinate at home.

I'm organizing 2 DU gatherings back to back. I'm dealing with at least 20+ pm a day from folks needing additional information and the Freaking march organizers have not published the map which shows where all the delegations are located. Plus I'm working a fulltime job and a variety of other non-DU activities I need to deal with.

I'm sure anyone who has attended one of the numerous DU events that I have organized can assure you that my attentions to details (and of course having Ramsey as a co-host for many of them) have made all of these events a sucess. I don't want some slacker saying they'll help out online here at DU and then not show up, leaving dozens of folks unable to find our delegation on the mall

If you think you can do a better job by all means you organize the march. I'd rather just show up and have fun that day and let someone else deal with all these little details.

than spend 24/7 on the computer organizing DU events???

You WORK??? What, are you crazy or something???

15. Easy to criticize from the sidelines.

It's imperative that potential volunteers know what they are getting into. It could end up being quite a bit of work and quite stressful.

If they read this thread, and think that everything is too much, then they're wrong for the job. Better to know upfront than on Sunday morning.
