Happy Birthday Jack Nicholson!!! Post your fav Jack movie here
Jack Nicholson turns 67 years young today. In honor of his birthday - why not post your favorite movie with Jack Nicholson.

Me, I'll always go back to Easy Rider with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's next in a very close 2nd.

What's your favorite Jack Nicholson movie??

6. Cry Baby Killer (1958)
Tagline: YESTERDAY a Teenage Rebel... TODAY a mad-dog slayer!

Plot Outline: Nicholson makes his film debut as a juvenile delinquent, who panics when he thinks he's committed murder. (more)

Interesting sideline on Jack: The woman Jack believed to be his mother was actually his grandmother. His "sister" (actually his aunt) was his real mother. He found out as an adult. Same thing happened to Bobby Darin.

7. Not my favorite Jack film, but a lesser known film
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 09:04 AM by aammpp
is Missouri Breaks and a great film on its own starring Brando, Harry Dean Stanton, Jack, and Randy Quaid.

Cuckoo's Nest is hard to beat when considering his career.

BTW...love your sig LynneSin!

8. "Little Shop of Horrors"
And "Easy Rider", of course. One of my all-time favorite movies. I still cringe at parts of it.

9. I'm going to have to agree with you 100% :)
His whole diatribe against aliens in Easy Rider was fantastic, and the whole scene with "I've got a helmet" . . . hehehehe.

Of course Cuckoo's Nest is also a classic. Great stuff.

10. I'm not sure why I love Easy Rider
never smoked or did any drugs ever (not that I have an issue with others), but I just love that movie and the whole culture. I wish I was this age back in the late 60's and 70's

:D

11. Easy Rider isn't just a movie about drugs :). . . .
It's more a movie about freedom, independence and throwing off of shackles imposed by society (if that doesn't sound to cliche).

12. It was a very exciting time
I was in San Francisco in '68 and their was this unbelievable electricity in the air. The feeling was, "we're not going to let things ever be the same again". To a certain extent, they were right.

15. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
Great film based on a great book, although both very different.

Jack is my favorite actor of all time. Other films of his I recommend:

The Last Detail
Five Easy Pieces
Terms of Endearment
About Schmidt
As Good As It Gets
Chinatown
The King of Marvin Gardens

And hey, I loved his Joker in Tim Burton's "Batman". :D

16. Anybody remember "Going South"
I think Jack was the director. The film had Balushi, Christopher Loyd, Danny Devito & Mary Stienbergen in her debut....

18. That was one weird movie...
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 12:06 PM by Hand
Pretty much completely tongue in cheek, and everybody in it seemed to be having a hell of a good time. I especially enjoyed the scene where Jack ambushed Lloyd with a large bucket of fresh horse piss... It was a Western, BTW. Sort of. Actually, I'm not so sure what it was.

:hi:

ON EDIT: Typo day today. Actually, I wrote "toady" rather than "today".

24. I like that film!
That was Jack's second effort at directing (the first was "Drive, He Said" back in 1970 or so.)

"Goin' South" was a quirky but cool little movie from 1979 I think.

If I had to pick the worst Nicholson film since he became a major star after "Easy Rider", I would say "Man Trouble" with Ellen Barkin. A stinker. Weirdest role? The doctor in "Tommy". Best dual role? "Mars Attacks!"

I loved the movie and it's the most interesting performance Nicholson has given.

20. I liked his appearance on The Andy Griffith Show in about 1960
He played a guy accused of stealing a TV. Aunt Bea was on the jury. All evidence pointed to his guilt. Aunt Bea, however, held out because she thought JN had an honest face. The rest of the jury was angry at her.

Evidence did come out proving his innocence.

21. Haven't seen "Easy Rider" Yet
Loved him in "A Few Good Men", "The Witches of Eastwick", and "Batman".

For a laugh, get "Psych-out" which will give you Bruce Dern, Jack, and Dean Stockwell all in one (weird) flick. *l*
