BERLIN (Reuters) - A purse snatcher was stopped cold on a Berlin street by a quick-thinking fast-food cook who hit the fleeing thief over the head with a wok, a German newspaper reported on Thursday.

Asian food cook Hai Nguyen, 40, was quoted in Bild as saying he saw the purse snatcher running from a shop in the eastern Berlin district of Koepenick. He grabbed his wok and hit the thief as he ran by. Knocked down, the thief was then arrested.
