So I'm going out to get the newspaper this a.m., half awake, and the squirrels are doing their friskey give-and-take by the bird feeder. One jumps from a tree trunk onto a tree branch and Thunk!, knocks a 4-foot rat snake from the branch above onto the walkway right in front of me. One more step and I would've been wearing a serpent crown.
