3. I'm not embarassed by any of my music.
And I happen to think Huey Lewis is a fantastic musician. I saw them play just a couple of years ago and they had a kick ass show.

4. True...unlike other pop musicians
He actually had a band (read: they actually played insturments, rather than dance around like a bunch of losers) and the band could actually play

Of course after reading American Psycho, Huey Lewis took on a whole different meaning...

She was kind of seen as a kooky, kitschy novelty back then.

10. I have a CD by a shit-rock group called 12 Stones.
Unimaginative pseudo-hard-punk-corporate-ClearChannel crap. Boring lyrics, two basic chords and screaming.

I thought they were cool when I bought it...:cry::cry:

13. Roxette
So glad the 80's are over! I'm actually going to attempt to sale several at a garage sale in a couple weeks. I threw two Toby Keith Cd's in the trash after I heard that he had a picture of the Dixie Chicks with Saddam at one of his concerts. Tonight I listened to Ella Fitzgerald, The Band and Melissa Ethridge. Perhaps my taste is improving a little. Please don't flame a newbie!

Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 10:08 PM by PROUD DemocRAT
But, truth be told, I'm not embarrassed! :) I'm never embarrassed by music I like. If I like it, I like it!

on edit: I actually thought of some that I really AM embarrassed about! I don't know where they are, but I don't remember getting rid of them so they must be around somewhere. They are:

Taylor Dayne
College Boyz
Mariah Carey (the first one)
Paula Abdul (also the first one, I think)
Bobby Brown - Bobby

Jesus - those were like the first cds I ever bought...bleah! I didn't have much exposure to music back then!

Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 10:16 PM by mvd
there are a few more around. A Backstreet Boys CD, a Dream CD, and a t.A.T.u CD among them. I have the recent Journey CD Arrival, and it's ok IMO. Could be a lot more annoying.

think I should be embarassed about.

George Strait, Flatt and Scruggs, Deuter, Best of Rogers and Hammerstein, soundtrack from "Dance With Me". But I bought it all because there was something I liked on it so I'm not ashamed. :)

36. I like Scruggs
I don't have anything recorded, but my mom had an Earl Scruggs album, and I used to love listening to it. Some beautiful music. Definitely nothing to be embarrassed about.

33. no CDs that I'm ashamed of, but quite a few LPs . . .
including things like "Chubby Checkers Twist Party," a couple of polka albums, and about a half dozen of those disco albums with a single track on one side . . . "It's Raining Men" by the Weather Girls comes to mind . . .
