--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today, after playing a Bush sound bite in which he referenced wetlands and the way God intended them to be, RR made some sort of reference to Bush being crazy, or gone or something like that. She then gave a little talk about "the football" which is the briefcase containing nuclear launch plans and codes always carried by a military aide accompanying the president.

She stated that if she was that person, she would run away from Bush with the briefcase. In the next sentence or so she said (paraphrase) I don't know how it works in other branches of the military, but on the flight deck, if the person in command goes crazy, you are supposed to take your sidearm and kill him. (end of paraphrase) This occurred beginning about 4:15pm on the over-the-air broadcast in Chicago. It all took perhaps 5 minutes or less.

This is the person who some have described as the only "pro" on the AAR team.

To which I replied back:

Hmmm... Guess you don't remember what G. Gordon Liddy said about the most effective way to assasinate Clinton.

Your neocon hypocrisy is boring and whiny as hell. NEXT!

I made reference to something I remember hearing Liddy talking about years ago. I know he made one similar about shooting FBI agents, but did he really make one about assassinating Clinton, or am I mistaken? Here's asshat's reply:

You are correct. I have never even heard of Liddy's "most effective way to assasinate Clinton" (sic). Please provide a link. Until you do so, I will consider your assertion a pure fantasy. (And please not a link from some wacky web site - the WP, LAT, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT etc. would be just fine.) In fact, I have never heard his radio program. I did hear him on the premier edition of the O'Franken Factor - where Al described them as pals or buddies, or some such.

As to what hell is like...

And my clever reply:

How about you provide a link to Ms. Rhodes' comments? I'll even let you use a wacky facist site like NewsMax, World Net or Freak Republic.

Since you brought all of this up, I think you owe us all some documentation. If not, then take this nonsense to someone who really cares.

In the meantime, I guess it's okay for Repug politicians to make jokes about killing US Senators, right?

Anybody help me out with some info on Liddy or any other RW talk goon talking about offing Big Dog?

I tried Googling, but I know the good folks here at DU are awesome at pulling out the best possible info. Thanks.

1. Liddy links
One is from FAIR. If he won't accept FAIR, then another is from Dennis Prager.

2. Liddy never said anything about assassinating Clinton
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 11:24 PM by scottcsmith
The controversy was about advice Liddy had given a caller about what to do if federal agents ever busted into a home without a search warrant. Liddy said to aim for the head, because the agents wear body armor.

Now, in 1994, former North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms had told a North Carolina newspaper that Bill Clinton was so hated by the military, he should "bring a bodyguard" if he ever visited military bases in North Carolina.

3. Hey wait, I noticed something!
Edited on Thu Apr-22-04 11:48 PM by LoZoccolo
It all took perhaps 5 minutes or less.

Wait so the two statements that are supposed to make up this "veiled reference" are as long as five minutes apart? You could make someone say all kinds of stuff by taking two sentences that far apart from each other! This is bullshit; of course you should ask for documentation!
