God I HATE talking to robots on the phone!

the recorded headless voices on the phone that give you choices to respond to. when checking your back balance, or ordering medications, or filing your taxes, robots are making us act like idiots.

"if you'd like to check your balance, say, 'i'd like to check my fucking balance!' 'if you wish to speak to a human being, say, i'd like to speak to a fucking human being!'

'o.k., i thought i heard you say, 'i'd like to speak to a fucking human being!', is that correct?

1. I had to call

the company's cellular provider last week. First you get the stupid robot saying, "Just tell me is this a personal or business account. Blahs Blahs Blhaa......." Then, when I'd finished screaming into the phone, (It j
keeped saying,"Oh I didn't get that please repeat.") the dang thing said "Thanks now please hold while I look up your account."
It then made sound like someone typing on a key board! Oh PLEASE!
Do they really think we're fooled into believing that we just talked to a REAL person?

When I finally got hold of a REAL operator, I told her that fake typing business was an insult. She told me that she'd heard that from many people but that her company thought it help sooth people.
Oh really!
Yack, bring on the real people up front, or just stop the silly games.

I'm flooded by guilt.

My company makes those evil systems. I write documentation telling people how to install, configure, and use those systems.

Wait. I still have a job!

Okay. Never mind. I feel guilty, but not THAT guilty!
