1. Great Picks
Very comprehensive, but #1 was fairly predictable.

15. It got "Night of the Hunter"
By far the scariest movie I know.

But this list is a little predictable, isn't it?

6. Really. You could argue that the top 36 scary scenes were ALL
from Silence of the Lambs.

3. I can't look. For me, it was
When a Stranger Calls

and when the caller said:

"Have you checked the children" when he kept calling on the phone.

and they were murdered!

That RUINED me on all horror movies! I have not been able to watch ANY since then. That was many years ago!

There was a sequel to that movie that I watched. I almost fainted and wet my pants at the same time when he said "Have you checked the children" again" *shudder*

Screw scary movies. Give me Mary Poppins!

5. I loved that movie.
One scene frightened me so much that I spilled a cherry soda all over the guy I was with.

10. That movie's promo scared me
I've never seen it, but their radio promo played a lot when I was a kid. The DJs used to say they had more requests for that commercial than for any song.

7. "Pink Elephants on Parade"
Is one of the trippiest scenes in film history, and inherently spooky too.

9. Two (apparent) omissions from the list
The scene when Ripley and Newt stumble through the fog into the Alien queen's egg chamber - very cool, with the queen producing probably the best hiss in horror movie history.

Also, in Seven, when the SWAT team closes in on the guy who's been strapped to his bed for an entire year and whips off the sheet . . . well, you know the rest!

19. One they left out:
In the first Alien movie, when they are searching for the "little" alien and the ships cat bursts out of a locker they are searching.

I watched that with a lady with a LOT of nervous energy holding onto my arm. She drew blood!

21. Friday the 13th Pt V
The scene where the fat guy is filming the girls, and Jason slices the underside of his stomache, and his guts fall out.

That deserved to be on there, damnit! :)

22. I'm blocked. Is the climactic scene in "Fatal Attraction" in there?
You know, the one where she is confronting her lover in front of his wife, picking at her leg with the knife to the point of the blood running down her leg?
