Girl, 16, Accused Of Trying To Hire Hitman To Kill Parents

Her father says it was nothing more than the angry, momentary outburst of a love-struck teen, but Wayne County authorities have charged a 16-year-old girl with soliciting two men to kill her parents.
"All this came about because my daughter got blindsided by love," Michael DeWayne Johnson said about the charges filed Tuesday against his daughter, Heather Nicole Johnson of 309 Sandhill Drive in Goldsboro.

The Southern Wayne High School student has been charged with two counts of solicitation to commit a murder. She is being held at the Wayne County jail under $95,000 bail.

One of the two witnesses implicating Heather, Edward Glyn Long of Mount Olive, has been charged with felony possession of a stolen weapon in connection with the case, a Wayne County investigator said. Long, 23, is being held under $50,500 bail, Wayne County Sheriff's Lt. Tom Effler said.

Investigators declined to confirm the name of the second man in the case, but Michael Johnson identified him as Bobby Ray Dudley, 19. Dudley lives at 4125 U.S. 13 South in Goldsboro, according to court records.
