What movie should I rent tonight?
It has to be something chick flicky that Skip would never want to see in a million years. I've seen Under the Tuscan Sun. It was good. Anything else to recommend? It has to be something new.
Thanks
Duckie

38. So did I...
But it's not what I would call a Chick Flick.
Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood is a chick flick. Sweet Home Alabama is a chick flick. Pulp Fiction...Not so much.
But that doesn't make it a bad movie. I loved that movie.

4. We just got Schindlers list
Its not new but its one of those movies you can watch over and over again. you kinda have to be in the mood though. Probably not considered a chick flick either.

8. See 'Happiness' it has some chick flick elements
However, it's also the sickest film of all time.

21. OMFG!
Chick flick?!? You're hanging out with some strange chicks!!!! :)

I rented Happiness without knowing a damn thing about it, the cover looked interesting, and sometimes I've found the coolest films that way...

But holy shit I wasn't ready for that! Good film, but edgy as all hell...

and the best film made in the past several years. The film is not sick, but the family is

6. If you haven't seen it yet
"Lost in Translation" is a real sweetheart of a film. In fact, if you can find it, get Francis Coppola's "One From the Heart" too and watch it as a father-daughter double feature. You won't be sorry...

10. A really sweet little chick flick
called "You Can Count On Me" with Laura Linney, Matthew Broderick, and Mark Ruffalo. I don't usually go for girly movies, but this one was just so great. I think it's fairly new.

12. Have you seen 'The Hours'?
Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 05:21 PM by redqueen
Not really a 'chick flick', but since Mr. Redqueen hates dramas, all dramas are now 'chick flicks' at my house.

Also, I liked 'Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood'. Maybe you will, too! :)

on edit: dagnabbit... I just noticed the 'has to be new' part. Since I don't see new movies, I can be of no help whatsoever. But I have been wanting to see 'House of Sand and Fog' and 'Whatever it Takes'.

14. Can you stand anime?
If so, I really recommend Ai Yori Aoshi. Not very new, and not really a movie but very chick friendly. I've often heard it described as a "couples anime." Plus it has enough fan service for the guys to keep them interested!

Any verion of Jane Eyre that you feel like renting.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

You Can't Take It with You

Adam's Rib
