Gas Station Robbers Waited On Customers - DURING The Robbery!
Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 04:35 PM by matcom
<snip>

The two men sought in the armed robbery of the Mobil Oil Gas Station on the Merritt Parkway early Wednesday morning waited on customers during the crime, a Connecticut State Police spokesman said yesterday.

State police released computerized composite photos yesterday of the suspects based on the description given by a witness, and are asking patrons rung up by the suspects to contact state police.

"We have some good leads but are still lacking some finality in terms of information," said Sgt. J. Paul Vance, a state police spokesman. "We want to run these photos to see if they jog anyone's memory."

Vance said he did not know how many customers the two men waited on and declined to provide other details, citing the ongoing investigation.

During the robbery the men threatened and assaulted two attendants at the gas station near the state line on the northbound side of the highway, inflicting minor injuries, according to police, before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Connecticut State Police Troop G responded to a 2:30 a.m. 911 call on Wednesday and secured the scene, according to Vance.
