True story from Oklahoma
Edited on Fri Apr-23-04 08:05 PM by BlueCollar
On the way back to Fort Worth Thursday from Tulsa I took the Turnpike to Oklahoma City. (Those of you who remember my misadventure on 75 in January will know why)

Anyway, half way between Tulsa and Oklahoma City, on the right hand side of the turnpike just outside of a small town called Bristow, there is a full size billboard and on it...written in huge letters is the message "I VOTE DEMOCRATIC"

There was no way to tell who put up the sign or pay for it so I can't give you anything on that.

As God is my witness this is true folks.I wish I had a camera...although I don't know how to post pictures anyway.

I wanted to share this...I was absoloutlely stunned...Right in the middle of the Bible Belt's Buckle...

Now is the time for Texans to demand similar courage from the Texas democratic Party methinks..

on edit: Day change....sposed to come back wednesday...tornado warnings kept me in Tulsa Weds night

next week...take a picture of that damn sign...and print 5,000 copies of it and then wallpaper the damn convention center in Houston with them...of course...once the freepers see this posting they'll tear the billboard down or blow it up....

2. That's AWESOME!!!
I like to call it "The clip of the buckle of the Bible belt".

I agree. Others in that area need to stand up and make their voices heard.

4. At the last Senate Dist 12 Dem Convention in FW
i walked through the parking lot....less than 20 cars had a bumpersticker on them identifying it as a car driven by a dem. No party or candidate stickers...very disheartening...

5. They must be leasing.
Some folks are more paranoid about getting scratched up, etc.

But, yeah it's sad.

8. I should think Oklahoma would be proud to be Dem.
Remember how during the Clinton administration, when Timothy McVeigh bombed the Murrah Federal Building? Remember how we went right after him and got him? Remember how we didn't invade Canada or Mexico or some other country that had nothing to do with the bombing? Remember bringing him to justice? Remember Bill Clinton NOT prancing around in a flight suit to celebrate "Mission Accomplished?" Things all Oklahomans, and indeed all Americans should be proud of.

11. Oklahoma would probably turn blue...
if we could only get the Dems out to vote. We needed a cockfighting ban on the ballot to get a Democrat governor. Who knows...fingers crossed.

12. Turner Turnpike

It's on the Turner Turnpike. If your heading west, you are on the Will Rogers heading into Tulsa and the Turner as you're leaving.
