Am I the only one who is PRAYING the Chargers pick Eli Manning?
If Archie Manning had ASKED the Chargers not to pick his son, that's one thing, but TELLING them that they better dare not pick him is the height of arrogance and conceit. PPick the little bastard and let him sit out for a year--arrogarnt pr**ks!!!!!!!!!!!

2. I hope they draft him
Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 11:22 AM by Neo Progressive
then if he refuses to sign, continue sucking so they end up getting the number one pick and continue drafting him with the first pick till he either gives up or never plays a down in the nfl. Arrogant young pricks like this need to be bitchslapped so they know their role.

4. I don't have a problem with what Archie Manning did.
And yes, I am a NY Giants fan. What are you implying?

8. I'm a Giants fan, too...didn't mean to imply anything by it.
I hope the Chargers draft him without trying to trade him right away. Why do the Mannings think they own the world? What is this, football royalty???

12. I was just kidding... you weren't implying anything
I was implying it. I was making fun of myself there. :hi:

Besides, we have to have something to look forward to this year.

17. I don't think the Giants need him, but sounds like they just got him....
....another lousy year. Kerry Collins is just fine, they just needed a new coach!

5. I can understand the Manning's concern
The Chargers are notorious for picking qb's high and than ruining them.. Check all the QB's they have had the last 10 years..Saying that I think that Manning should have been smart enough to attempt to get a trade after he was picked.

6. Archie could have gone about it a different way...asked them, asked
if there was something they could do because of his concerns--he basically told them what to do. Do you want to see all players start doing that? Besides, Eli will never win the big one, just like Peyton never will.

7. just turned on the draft
I've apparently been out of touch with the sports world, since the first I heard of this controversy was the booing when Manning was picked.

What's been going on?

Did Manning only say he didn't want the Chargers to pick him? If that's the case, why is this such an issue? I'm sure players end up on teams they don't like pretty frequently.

9. No, Archie TOLD San Diego not to pick his son...
...he didn't ask. That's where the arrogance comes in.

10. even more so, then
So Eli ends up on a team his father doesn't want him to be on.

The Mannings should deal with it instead of acting like they're all special. This probably happens to a lot of players.

Edited on Sat Apr-24-04 01:40 PM by frylock
the Spanos' have turned this franchise and my city into a laughing stock. Why on earth would anyone want to play for these assholes?! Talk about arrogant? The Chargers are nothing more than a status symbol for these repuke assbites. They've retained a lame-duck coach who will be on his ASS by week 5 when the Chargers have zero victories. I'm at the point where I wish L.T. would leave so he could live up to his potential as the best running back in the league. Nope.. fuck the Chargers.

SHOW ME YOUR LIGHTNING BOLTS!!!

21. I pray the the Spanos's sell the team to someone local.
They are greedy bunch of bu$h and Reagan loving repigs who dont give a shit about the product they put on the field. They weaseled a ticket guaranteed from the city for years (city bought all the unused tix while the Spanos's consistently put a shitty team on the field) and have been threatening to move the team to LA if they dont get a new stadium. BOOO Fucking HOOOO!
I hope that they sell local.

22. they had susan golding living in their back pocket..
thus the ticket guarantee. Looks as if they may eliminate the guarantee now, so that means we won't be watching any Charger games on the TV, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend my hard earned actually going to the games, or even over to Trophy's with the talent their running out on the field. Guess that will free up my Sundays for something more productive.
