HELP need a good Canadian mail order pharmacy
I really resisted this as I am not a law breaker in real life (except going 10MPH over way too often)

but hubby needs his allergy meds and I can't afford $2.50 a day for his script and my local pharmacist told me to get it from Canada where it is an over the counter med.

Can anybody help?

1. online pharmacies
here's a good starting point:
http://www.rx4us.com/en/index.html?1031

but also try: www.drugstore.com - online pharmacy & drugstore, prescriptions filled

they're in NJ, and have lower prices on most of what I use than the Canadian firms. and their shipping cost is only $1.49 per order.

good luck!

2. If you're in AZ, how close are you to Yuma?

Algodones, Mexico which is quite close to Yuma may be an option for you. Scott Burns wrote a column http://www.dallasnews.com/s/dws/bus/scottburns/columns/2004/vitindex.html (registration required) which gives an overview of the environment. See the ones dated 4/10/2004 & 4/12/2004.

3. Let me guess, Allegra?
I use Allegra D and I was making trips to Windsor to get mine, since my insurance company felt they knew better than my doctor when it came to what allergy medicine I should be using. See, they would pay for Zyrtec (didn't do squat for me) but not Allegra, because Claritin had just been made OTC. Make sense to you? Me neither, but after months of arguing and needling, I finally got them to rescind their judgement and they are now paying for my Allegra.

BTW: $22.00 for Allegra D/30 pills

4. Here are a couple of good sources of information
One is an article at about.com which gives some tips on how to go about it and what to be wary of:

http://insurance.about.com/cs/uninsured/a/canadadrugs.htm?terms=buying+drugs+canada

The second is a page with links to the most reliable online buying sites, together with user reviews:

http://www.canadiandrugstores.com

And as far as being illegal, the about.com article says, "Is it legal? U.S. law prohibits the re-importation of prescription drugs. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made it quite clear that it is not going to prosecute individuals who import small quantities of prescription drugs from Canada for their own use (small being defined as a three-month supply). Congressman Bernie Sanders (I-VT) provides detailed instructions on his Website for constituents who want to drive to Canada to fill their prescriptions. It may be illegal, but our government is tolerating - even tacitly encouraging - civil disobedience."
