Over 45? Maybe you can help me remember a t.v. show

from childhood.

It featured a dog as it's star (not Rin Tin Tin or Lassie), and I'm remembering the name of the show as something like, The Littlest Hobo. It was on once a week and was about a dog who was on his own....maybe on a long journey "home", but along the way would enter into the lives of different people and make some kind of difference.

I've never met anyone who recalls this show, so special points if you can.

One of my other childhood animal star programs was My Friend Flicka, about a horse.

It was a Canadian show on when I was a kid.

They started doing it again back in the early 80's but it didn't last too long.

You're right the show was called The Littlest Hobo.

The Littlest Hobo follows the adventures of a highly intelligent German shepherd named London, who wanders the country, befriending people in trouble and helping to remedy their situation. He then declines their offer to adopt him as a pet, leaves them, and continues his hobo life. Among the names given to London by his human friends are Smoke, Einstein, Scout, Mr. Magic, Lucky, Shadow, Buddy, Slapshot, Roamer, Crusoe, Ulysses, Hercules, Sinbad, and Gulliver.

I thought it was still showing on a Canadian tv channel somewhere.


It seems to me it was one of those feel-good, learn a valuable lesson shows like Touched by an Angel.....those repeats are now broadcast on Canada's religious channel called Vision. Maybe you could check the schedule......http://www.visiontv.ca/index2.html
