Who's the geekiest of them all?
OK...outgeek me!

IN HS I did D&D (served as DM for a while), watched all the doctors on Dr. Who...followed the Blakes 7 storyline all the way through, and even went to some Dr. Who conventions, memorized Python parts and could have won awards on Beet the Geeks (I miss that show)...

Cmon...I know you can...

3. Well, I'll try... please tell me how I rank...
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 03:19 PM by HypnoToad
I watched all the Doctors - loved the 6th especially - and bought all the VHS tapes.

Ditto for Blake's 7.

Ditto for Red Dwarf.

Ditto for The Prisoner, the Avengers, Quark, and lots of short-lived tv series the mainstream never got into...

Went to Dr Who conventions.

I keep in track of all new Dr Who and B7 video/DVD releases regularly and get hyped for each new release!

I still buy ne Dr WHo novels.

I nitpick Dr Who, Blake's 7, and other TV shows and movies to pieces.

Heaven help me, I went to Star Trek conventions (which are less geeky, but they count) - but I went to them primarily to get more Dr Who goodies at the time. :D

Futurama is the most intelligent show ever made.

I use and adore Linux.

I'm partially ambidexterous.

I know what a fractal is.

I know how to hook up complex series of audio/visual equipment.

I'm not messy but I quickly accrue clutter.

I'm eternally single and socially awkward.

I know the differences between DSL and cable broadband.

I'm gay and I think the BBC TV show "Coupling" is uproariously funny. (it's about heterosexuals and heterosexual sex, yuck...)

I often prefer playing games from emulators than buying new games. (Well, I do buy some new games, I am just in love with the old ones.)

I can STILL navigate around the Atari 800 operating system (though not very well, it's been a while)

I find Betamax and DVD+R technologies to be superior to their contemporary counterparts, meaning are or they will likely become extinct much more quickly.

I know WebTV sends your personal info back to Microsoft for their marketing research (so why don't the users get paid for assisting them?)

I've also memorized links and some details of Microsoft's predatory history.

I looked up most of the binary references made on Futurama (Bender's apartment #, 00100100 is ASCII for a dollar sign...)

I passed many purity tests despite being homosexual... :P

I have a huge 5' stuffed Tweety bird sitting on my sofa.

I put pictures of my countenance on the internet.

I have a completely off the wall and disturbing sense of humor.

My car has bumper stickers promoting my web site, certain phrases from sci-fi tv shows (Dr Who, Blakes 7), and my favorite "I'm diagonally parked in a parallel universe"

I glare at people driving Hummers, they obviously need one more than I do. :eyes:

I think "Spaceballs" is the only funny movie Mel Brooks made.

I'm digitizing my VHS tape collection and burning them onto DVDs (DVD+R, naturally.)

Before sound cards became of age, I always installed and configured TWO (or even THREE) of them so I could have multiple sounds being played simultaneously as I had crossed over from the Amiga, a technically superior computer of the time (1994)!! (top that, moohahahahaha!)

I used OS/2!

I used BeOS!

I put marshmallow Peeps in the microwave, into vacuum jars, into freezers, in my mouth, stick lit cigarettes in them, take pictures of all of it, and put them on my web site for all to see and then wonder about my psychological state. :-)

I put CDs, toothpicks, candles, and lightbulbs in the microwave and put pics of them frying on the web site too. (only the CDs so far...)

I speak in riddles.

I speak with double negatives.

I love emoticons!

I built a model of the USS Reliant (NCC-1864) and have the Enterprise to finish.

My car's license plate has a Star Trek registry # on it.

I speak with a slight British accent complete with some Brit slang because I grew up watching nothing but PBS (and the aforementioned Dr Who, Blake's 7, Prisoner, et al)

I use big words, and sometimes misuse them slightly because of my self-aggrondizing nature...

I taught my Christmas cactus to bloom in late April (I've pics, so there!)

I'm almost 32 and I still somtimes highlight my hair green or blue!

I listen to movie and tv show soundtracks (top that, moohahahaha!)!

For a while, I used FOUR firewalls on my system! (The router's firewall, a separate hardware firewall, the SuSE Linux software firewall, and Norton internet security software firewall for my Windows EMULATION)

I emulate old computers and platforms including Windows, DOS, Amiga, Atari 800, Apple ]
I've mixed tiger barbs, paradise gouramis, and Electric Blue African Cichlids (Sciaenochromis fryeri) - three semi-aggressive species from far reaches of the world that, for me, usually keep their place and don't kill each other.

There's more, but haven't I said enough?

Well, what's the prize I just won? A date (not the fruit, unless it is a fruit, because I'm a fruit! :D )

(edit: Okay, I did do D&D for a short period of time. Ditto for Mech-Warrior, back when it was a RPG and not a computer game. )

(edit 2: I forget the obvious; I make polls referring to old arcade games and even remember minute details about many of them... sigh...)

4. You out geek me however idenfity this (music geek hat time):
Well, you can't have that, but if you're an American citizen you are entitled to:
a heated kidney shaped pool,
a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,
a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,
a kingsize Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,
a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,
real simulated Indian jewelry,
a Gucci shoetree,
a year's supply of antibiotics,
a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,
a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,
Rosemary's baby,
a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,
a new Matador,
a new mastadon,
a Maverick,
a Mustang,
a Montego,
a Merc Montclair,
a Mark IV,
a meteor,
a Mercedes,
an MG,
or a Malibu,
a Mort Moriarty,
a Maserati,
a Mac truck,
a Mazda,
a new Monza,
or a moped,
a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,
a Las Vegas wedding,
a Mexican divorce,
a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,
or a baby's arm holding an apple?

10. Entitlement... my two cents:
a heated kidney shaped pool,

"bedpan" would have been more amusing than "kidney" in terms of describing its shape.

a microwave oven--don't watch the food cook,

I always do... :D

a Dyna-Gym--I'll personally demonstrate it in the privacy of your own home,

Really? ;-)

a kingsize Titanic unsinkable Molly Brown waterbed with polybendum,

Naah, I have no use for Molly Brown, unless she was good with conversation.

a foolproof plan and an airtight alibi,

That puts * out of the running...

real simulated Indian jewelry,

Faux beads?

a Gucci shoetree,

Why?

a year's supply of antibiotics,

Save that for the food farm-fresh animals.

a personally autographed picture of Randy Mantooth
and Bob Dylan's new unlisted phone number,

Dunno about the tooth part, but you got my interest piqued with "Randy Man"...

a beautifully restored 3rd Reich swizzle stick,

Those were the days, but not for me...

Rosemary's baby,

Great movie. 1969?

a dream date in kneepads with Paul Williams,

Knee pads? Who is bending over? I don't like that aspect of it, there are better uses for, um, things...

a new Matador,

Only in Spain, Portugal, and Mexico... maybe Brazil...

a new mastadon,

No thanks.

a Maverick,

James Garner was better in Rockford Files and his season 2 appearance in "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in".

a Mustang,

Hyped up sports car.

a Montego,

Never heard of it.

a Merc Montclair,

Never heard of it.

a Mark IV,

Marv IV TARDIS, as specified in the Doctor Who adventure "The Time Meddler" (1965)?

a meteor,

They stay crunchy in milk

a Mercedes,

Another pompous car

an MG,

Another pompous car?

or a Malibu,

A pompous city!

a Mort Moriarty,

Did he know Holmes?

a Maserati,

ANother posh car?

a Mac truck,

I prefer a Mac computer. :-)

a Mazda,

Cool, when?

a new Monza,

???

or a moped,

No thanks, they're organ doner machines...

a Winnebago--Hell, a herd of Winnebago's we're giving 'em away,
or how about a McCulloch chainsaw,

Yuck!

a Las Vegas wedding,

Only for Billy Idol.

a Mexican divorce,

Only if you're Britney Spears.

a solid gold Kama Sutra coffee pot,

Thanks for the visuals... :D :puke:

or a baby's arm holding an apple?

Not an Apple computer, I presume...

7. That's lame because everybody does it!
Try Dalekese or Cyberish or, worse, binary!

Indeed, your phrase "You'd have to write that in Klingon" looks like this, and this was a pain to look up BTW (now imagine my entire post...):
