Poll question: Are music geeks as geeky as sci-fi/fantasy geeks?
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 04:18 PM by Taverner
And if you're unsure of what a music geek is...if you've ever referred to your music collection in terms of hours as In "I have over 100 hours of the Dead...and that's just their Hampton shows..."

YOU ARE A MUSIC GEEK

2. it's a different type of geek
I noticed that today at my chorus concert, there are plenty of music geeks and they are pretty geeky, it's just different somehow. I can't explain it.

3. Depends on the music, in some ways

"Geeky" is pretty tough to define, but if someone has 100 hours of cheesy German poodle metal, I'd say that's fairly geeky. If "geeky" means socially non-hip or uncool, then yeah, music has a lot of potential for that. Sci fi / Fantasy probably has more potential, however, but you could have a sci fi geek who's Phil Dick crazy, and a music geek who's Pat Boone crazy, and you tell me who you'd rather hang out with.
