I just watched it on TCM. Great flick, although lacking depth IMHO.

1. No depth??!

LOL! It's a pretty campy movie, but when I was 11 years old in the 1970s, it seemed pretty profound. Definitely a classic of its genre (campy science fiction movies).

Glad you enjoyed.

2. How about Logan's Run....
another campy flick but well worth the watch.
There were so many "doom and gloom" future flicks back then...good
stuff.

4. Oh damn! I missed it!
One of the few good ones I don't have in my collection in one form or another.

I like "Silent Running" too.

Have you done your "Rocky" sci-fi night yet?

8. You have to take the song "Double Feature Picture Show"
Edited on Sun Apr-25-04 05:17 PM by DarkPhenyx
and pick out all the movies they talk about, then rent/buy all of them and watch them in a single sitting. Pack extra ber. It's a long session. http://www.rockymusic.org/lyrics/

Michael Rennie was ill
"The Day the Earth Stood Still"
but he told us,
where to stand.

and "Flash Gordon" was there
in silver underware.
Claude Raines was the
"Invisible Man"

and so on.

YEah, "Silent Running" is one of teh big reason I'm as much of a tree-hugger as I am today. Plus I cried when the little robot got hit , then when the other one got left behind , and...

:)

<on edit>

link to lyrics for song.
