What's with the "Yankee fans are Freepers" crap?

The Sox just swept the Yanks for the first time since '99, but the national news coverage only talks about "ARod's finally coming around with the hitting..." and "Check out the defensive prowess of ARod. The Red Sox won the series, but how about ARod!"

It is clear to me that there exists some connection between Yankees and the forces of Satan, but that does not change the fundamental truth about who the Red Sox are. Red Sox fans are excited now, but deep within themselves they know that eventually the Red Sox will experience bitter defeat.

The Yankees represent everything that is wrong with unfettered capitalism. They happen to play in the financial epicenter of the universe and have access to profits that are inconceivable to the other 29 teams in MLB. King George will undoubtedly write a blank check before the trading deadline and acquire whatever it takes to win. Money is never an object. Winning at the expense of the good of the entire league is a noble goal and to hell with competitive balance. And in spite of this embarrassment of riches, George is trying to get the city to build him a new stadium on the taxpayers' dime. Arrogant, bloated, entitled...remind you of anyone you hate??
