I'm over forty and ...
I have a pair of very old, old ripped up jeans that I can't let go! One of the knees caps is blown out and so is the back lower thigh. When I bend over there's a flesh show. Very sad. I think I can't let go of them because I'm very impressed that I still fit in them.

Who else is over forty and has something unbecoming from their yute that they can't let go?

1. A bunch of albums from the 1970's
Trade you an Emerson Lake and Palmer for the old jeans!

No just kidding...

2. Jeans and aloha shirts
I've got aloha shirts from when I lived in Hawai'i in the 70s and 80s. I've still got my old patch jeans from the 60s. To say I fit in them is quite a stretch, but if I stretch them I do.

4. My son's best friend (about fifteen) has a new shirt. It's tie-dyed!
And...I'm noticing quite a few teenage boys wearing their hair long! Like the boys wore them in the 70s.

8. Gawd! Does that bring back memories of making runs to the beach
for the weekend. We'd have to go through farm country with the same kind of fencing. Except that the fencing actually would grow into trees!

10. The car in the picture loved to go down to the beach...
..it just wouldn't want to come back up the hill at the day's end. It was one of them push-button transmission Valients and the day came when the buttons just froze up.

I used to make fun of old people when they remembered the past. Now I know how cool it is! And now young people make fun of me for loving the old days!

15. Well, actually, children today live in repressive times.
Back in our time it was cool to thumb your nose at the old farts that tried to put down your spirit. We KNEW how to challenge the establishment, and probably because of Vietnam, we became political far quicker than the younger generation does today.

Our time will be missed.

13. It died at Taylor Camp
We got it for $250 and drove it until it died.

Taylor Camp was prime beachfront land in Hawai'i owned by Liz Taylor's brother. He let hippies hang out and live on it as revenge for some kind of zoning or tax problem with the state.

3. I still have my 2 piece cassette stereo
Like the original boom box but only worse. It was fairly crappy when I got it back in 68 or 69. why i keep it in the attic I don't know because this is not a collectable version.

9. If you haven't played Donna Summer in a while, I KNOW your house
isn't clean. Keeping up with McArthur's Park while you sweep and dust is a challenge.

from my 70's yute. Used to make jaws drop in that dress. Don't wear it now, just look at it and s-m-i-l-e. ;)
